The Walnut Hill Drama Society presents Professor Savage’s Traveling Medicine Show. Actors in period clothing represent a small corps of traveling players performing on behalf of a patent medicine company. They incorporate 19th-century vaudeville skits, short acts from period plays, humorous poems and readings, and songs. Along with the entertainment, Professor Savage will attempt to convince you of the healing powers of his Swamp Root Elixir herbal tonic in 19th-century hard-selling style. A healthy dose of skepticism is advised! Each performance lasts approximately a half-hour; seating and shade is available.
