You and your preschooler can explore Irish culture and heritage through stories, crafts, and hands-on activities. Each week focuses on a different aspect of folklore.

  • Please arrive 5 minutes early so program may begin on time
  • Location: Tangen Home (meet at Visitor Center)
  • Dress for weather—program occurs indoors and outdoors

  • $34 for parent and child ($30 for members)
  • $12 each additional child ($10 for members)
  • Each ticket is for one session

Billy Goats Gruff • April 5

Start the series with the most well-loved Norwegian fairy tale: Three Billy Goats Gruff. Hear how three brother goats outsmart a mean troll so they can cross a bridge to their feeding ground.

Polar Bears • April 12

Some families have a pet dog or cat, but the family in this story has a polar bear living with them! They are proud of their unique addition and bring it to the king of Denmark, but they run into a little trouble …

Trolls • April 26

Do you know how to outsmart a troll? In Norwegian stories trolls aren’t the smartest of creatures and are often outwitted, even by young children. Come hear the silly ways trolls are outsmarted.
