Living History Farms is now a regional partner in the Scripps National Spelling Bee

Saturday, March 7 • 2 p.m.

Emcee: WHO 13 News anchor/reporter Calyn Thompson

We’re excited to bring the Scripps National Spelling Bee to a significant portion of Iowa that had been unrepresented.  The regional winner will advance to the National Bee on May 28 and 29, 2026, in Washington, D.C.

Please check in at the Kemin Cultivation Center (11121 Hickman) between 1:45 and 2  p.m. We invite you to visit our Exhibit Hall, which currently includes the interactive “Road to Liberty,” quilts from our collection, our historic hearse, and our bicentennial prairie schooner. A short program will begin at 2 p.m. in the Learning Center next door, and the bee will start at 2:30 p.m.
