Lindsay Kirstein

Lindsay is the Site Lead of the Urbandale Seed Center at Bayer CropScience in Urbandale. In this role, she oversees a fully automated facility that is pivotal in supporting Bayer’s field testing, pipeline delivery, production research, and market development organizations. She joined Bayer’s Breeding organization in 2016 as an Operational Support Coordinator, leading a team that supported all field testing locations in North America and Canada. She moved to the Site Lead Role in 2021. Lindsay is passionate about environmental sustainability and helps to manage the 2-acre pollinator habitat at Living History Farms. She is uniquely interested in agricultural education and STEM opportunities that help the general public get acquainted with where their food comes from and the science behind solving world hunger.

Lindsay received her bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from the University of Iowa in 2008 and her master’s in leadership development from Drake University in 2022.

Lindsay, her husband Matt, and their two boys live in Ankeny. Lindsay and Matt enjoy watching the boys in their many sporting endeavors including hockey, basketball, soccer, and baseball.  They also have two dogs: a Dalmatian named Riggs and a silver lab named Grey, who has enjoyed many fun trips to the museum.
