Welcome to Learning Fields

This web exhibit is designed with two objectives in mind.

1. Connect your students to agriculture today.
2. Enhance and extend the learning that occurs at Living History Farms into your classroom.

While we hope that you will visit Living History Farms, we also feel that it is not a pre-requisite to using Learning Fields in the classroom. Some information is available here about all of the farms represented at Living History Farms, so that the story of agriculture today is placed in context.

The Lesson Plans and Additional Resources provided will help you use this web exhibit in your classroom. Keep in mind that Learning Fields is just like farming – always changing and growing. Watch as more content comes online, including:

• New information about different aspects of Iowa agriculture
• New resources
• New multi-curriculum lesson plans to use in your classroom, from teachers like yourselves

We know that teachers are creative. You will undoubtedly come up with ways to utilize the information in Learning Fields in ways that we have not even thought of!
