DESCRIPTION:Run 5 miles through 300 years of history!\nSaturday\, November 7\, 9 a.m.\nRegistration opens August 1\nImmerse yourself in rural Iowa landscapes for this one-of-a-kind off-road race. You’ll splash through streams\, plow through fields\, and enjoy post-race treats from the Machine Shed. The course starts and ends in the 1876 town of Walnut Hill and runs through our three historic farm sites. Be sure to wave to the horses\, cows\, sheep\, and pigs! \nAwards given for top male and female overall\, top male and female in each age division\, and best individual\, group\, and patriotic/semiquincentennial costumes. Must be 14 to register. Age divisions: \n\n14-19\n20-29\n30-39\n40-49\n50-59\n60-69\n70-79\n80+\n\nAll finishers receive a shirt celebrating America 250 and a cowbell medal. \nCostume contest categories: \n\nBest individual\nBest group\nBest patriotic/U.S. semiquincentennial\n\nAny participants who have not reached the halfway point in 1 hour may be asked to hop on the “sag wagon.” \n+ FREE KIDS’ RUN\nSaturday\, November 7 • 10:30 a.m.
