DESCRIPTION:It’s decision time: Think about the things you want and need \nMay 1–October 31 • Kemin Cultivation Center Exhibit Hall • Included with General Admission\nToday you might use a moving van or a storage pod for a move to a new home. Pioneers often packed horse-drawn wagons like our prairie schooner. No matter the era\, moving day was and is a time to consider what belongings are important enough to make the trip. In the 1800s\, settlers had to calculate how much food they would need for the journey\, what items they would need to start a homestead\, and much more. This exhibit includes an exercise in packing a wagon and invites you to consider the necessities and luxuries in your own life.
