Sessions: 1-5

Become an explorer as you embark on an adventure in early 19th century Iowa! Learn how to get your expedition started, then follow Lewis and Clark’s trek across the Louisiana Purchase. Along the way, learn the skills of map making, archery, plant and animal identification, being a steward of the land, and surveying.

Activity Highlights: cook stew, learn archery, creek walk, go fishing, learn morse code, make a map

Sessions: 6-9

Investigate the cultural differences of Native Americans in various regions of the USA as you try archery, crafts, games, and open-fire cooking. Campers will explore a different region each day and wrap up the week by performing a Pow-wow.

Activity Highlights: cook wild rice stew, learn archery, creek walk, learn loom beading, make tea-dyed shirts, cook Navajo fry bread
