Summer Day Camp – 1st Grade

Blast into the past to explore nature, frontier town life, and fun on the farm! Live like a person in a different century as you play with Victorian toys at the Flynn Mansion and shop in the General Store. Work on your observation skills as you take nature walks, and get muddy playing in the creek! This half-day week long camp is offered in the morning and the afternoon.

Registration for Visiting the Past starts Jan 3 (Members), Jan 24 (Non-members)

Tuesday* School Days Visit Schoolhouse, decorate chalkboards
Wednesday Victorian Toys Visit Flynn Mansion, make Victorian toys
Thursday Pioneer Days Visit 1850 Farm, PLAY IN CREEK
Friday 1900 Farm Visit 1900 Farm, shop in General Store

 

*Note: All groups have picture day on Tuesday.

CREEK WALK days will be wet and muddy. Bring a towel or plastic bag for your child to sit on in the car.

Meet animals, learn how plants grow, and live like a farmer as you attend Big Red Barn School! Each day campers will read a story, explore our historic sites, and get creative making crafts to remember their camp experience. This is a full-day 3-day camp.

Day 2 Gardening Visit 1700 Farm, explore what a plant needs to grow, PLAY IN CREEK
Day 3 Homestead Visit 1850 Farm, shop in General Store
