The seasons are changing on the farms, and so are the routines! Once again, it’s time for fall on the farm! Our Fall Barnyard Readers programs focus on the harvest routines and holiday traditions of living on a farm. Together with your 3, 4, or 5-year old, gather to read a book or two about the featured theme, then board a tractor-drawn cart (in September & October) or a horse-drawn wagon (in November & December, weather permitting) for a ride to the farm.
At the farm, learn more about the theme you’ve just read about, and participate in hands-on activities. Reminder! Dress for the weather, as the program takes place both indoors and outside.
Programs occur once a month September-December on Wednesdays from 10:00am-11:30am.
Session 1 – September 5, October 3, November 7, December 5. This session has sold out.
Second session added!
September 12 – Apples
October 10 – Pumpkins and Squash
November 21 – Thanksgiving on the Farm
December 12 – Christmas on the Farm
In general, the schedule will be as follows for each individual program. Please arrive on time so the program may begin on time. Meet at the Visitor Center (September and October) or the Conference Center (November and December) to begin the program.
