Fall Barnyard Readers

Experience fall and winter on the farm as you and your preschooler participate in a reading-based, activity-filled literacy program! Programs incorporate harvest and holiday traditions based around living on a farm in Iowa. Every program includes stories, hands-on activities, visits to a farm, and games.

Reminder!  Dress for the weather, as the program takes place both inside and outside.

Registration begins August 17, 2021.

Schedule of Programs

Programs occur on Wednesdays in September-December from 9:30am-11:00am.

Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021 – Apples (Farm Visit: 1900)
Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021 – Pumpkins & Squash (Farm Visit: 1700 & 1850)
Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021 – Thanksgiving on the Farm (Farm Visit: 1900)
Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021 – Christmas on the Farm (Farm Visit: 1900)

Children must be accompanied by an adult. All adults and children are required to purchase a ticket. Before you register, please read the Barnyard Readers policies.

Non-member: $14.00 per person, adult or child

Members: 15% discount

Please arrive 5 minutes early so that the program may begin on time.

9:30 Begin with introductions & welcoming activity
9:45 Read stories
10:00 Travel to the Farm; tour and see the animals and/or buildings
10:30 Return to the conference center for craft and related activities
