In October, Iowa PBS will air a new documentary about Saint Pope John Paul II’s 1979 visit to Iowa. On September 30, you can watch a special premiere here at Living History Farms, where the Pontiff said Mass during that trip. Before the screening, take a guided tour of the Church of the Land and enjoy refreshments in the Visitor Center. Afterward, hear a short discussion with producer John Torpy and individuals featured in the documentary: Monsignor Frank Bognanno, Marty Jorgensen, David Oman and Gen. Harold “Tommy” Thompson.

Guests who do not wish to walk from the Visitor Center to the Church of the Land (about 1/5 mile on boardwalk and dirt/gravel path) should call to arrange parking at the Church of the Land: 515-278-5286.
