Living History Farms welcomes dogs to the museum any day of the season, and we’d love to see dogs and owners this Saturday! Bring your well-behaved pup to take a tractor cart ride over to the west side of the museum, walk the trail and visit each of our three working farm sites, and enjoy fun canine-themed activities in the 1876 Town of Walnut Hill!
9:30 & 10:30 a.m.
Cheer on four-dog relay teams in this exciting, fast-paced canine sport. Demonstrations last just 15 minutes, so don’t be late!
12:30 p.m.
See a demonstration by Duke and Luna, the Belgian malinois brother and sister who serve on the Altoona Police Department.
1 p.m.
Meet-and-greet (and photo ops!) with Ember, the Windsor Heights Fire Department dog.
2 p.m.
Learn how IOWA Service Dogs trains service dogs for first responders and veterans—and how you can use their techniques with your own dog.

Watch the origins of “America’s Greatest Pastime” by catching a Walnut Hill Bluestockings game played by 1870s rules.
