Unique meeting places in a rural setting
For groups, company picnics, business retreats, sales meetings, receptions and more

Living History Farms Visitor Center, Great Hall, and Orientation Room
Spacious, airy and open, the Great Hall in the Visitor Center at Living History Farms features exposed beams, skylights, brick, inlaid wood and windows looking out to the 1875 town of Walnut Hill. On warm summer evenings, the Great Hall's French doors open to a stone courtyard surrounded by evergreen trees. The Visitor Center holds 100 people and is available for receptions, meetings, luncheons and dinners from 5 p.m. to midnight May through October and 7 a.m. to midnight November through April. The adjoining Orientation Room is a private retreat that seats 50 people. Scenes of Living History Farms are featured in the room and a 10-foot projector screen is built in. A catering kitchen, restrooms, and plenty of car and bus parking complete the site.

William G. Murray Conference Center
The Murray Conference Center is a unique, modern facility for business meetings, planning sessions, day retreats, luncheons and receptions. The Blazing Star Meeting Room can seat up to 60 people and features a vaulted ceiling with a wall of southern windows. The spacious balcony overlooks a peaceful farm pond where deer, ducks and Canadian geese occasionally gather. Break-out rooms downstairs are convenient for small group work. The conference center includes 80 chairs, 24 square tables, TV/VCR, easels, two eight-foot banquet tables, wireless Internet and coffee/beverage service, and dessert/snack trays. A well-equipped catering kitchen is also included.

Walnut Hill Shelter House
A perfect place for company picnics and barbeques, the shelter is located in a wooded area near the 1875 town of Walnut Hill. The 30' x 45' open-air shelter includes electricity and picnic table seating for up to 200. Modern restrooms, water and outdoor stage are nearby. The shelter area is designed for any size group from 50 to 200 people. A special package has been developed for your daytime event, including a visit to the Walnut Hill town, fun historical game equipment, access to a stage (with electricity), and 10 acres of shaded lawn. Self-guided farm site tours are an additional option. Living History Farms may provide catered meals for up to 60 people November-March. Coffee/Beverage service and dessert/snack trays are available year-round.

Church of the Land
Our "Prairie Gothic" Chuch is available year-round for weddings, baptisms, music recitals/programs, and church services. Located in the 1875 town of Walnut Hill, the church seats 150 people in its sanctuary. Bridal dressing room, piano, pump organ, cassette/CD player, candelabras, hurricane lamps, and pew clips are included. The church is air-conditioned and heated. The basement reception room for 50 people includes kitchen facilities with stove, refrigerator, ice maker, coffee maker, 11 tables and 50 chairs. A minimum of three hours rental time is required for weddings; four hours minimum with reception room.
