Living History Farms Teacher of the Year Award

Do you know a teacher who brings history to life for his or her students? If so, nominate them for the 3rd annual LHF Teacher of the Year Award!

The award winner will be recognized at the Living History Farms’ Farmstasia event on Saturday, October 13th, 2012, and will receive:

  • A commemorative plaque
  • An invitation to become an ad hoc member of the Living History Farms’ Education Advisory Committee in 2013
  • Free admission to the Farmstasia event for two people (valued at $300)
  • Free “Learning Excursions” study  trip for up to 50 of  his or her students during calendar year 2012 (valid, during regular general season hours and dates; does not cover the cost of transportation; not valid for adults; advance registration required; value $5.50 per student)

How to Nominate a Teacher

Check back in 2012 for nomination details, or sign up to receive our Friends of the Farm newsletter to receive notification regarding this and all other events and programs going on at LHF.

Eligibility

  • The recipient must be a K-12 teacher who incorporates a program or tour of Living History Farms into their classroom curriculum.
  • Members of the LHF Education Advisory Committee are not eligible.

Who Can Nominate a Teacher

Nominations can come from the teacher; the teacher’s principal, superintendent, or peers; or a parent of one of the teacher’s students.

Selection

In late September, 2012, a sub-committee of the LHF Education Advisory Committee will select the recipient.
