More than 40 years ago, Dr. William Murray had a vision for a 500 acre tract of land located just outside Des Moines: create a living history museum to preserve and teach generations to come about America's agricultural heritage. Today, Living History Farms is a - renowned not-for-profit agricultural museum that brings that vision to life. The foresight of Dr. Murray still guides the museum as we continue to educate, entertain and connect people of all ages to Midwestern rural life experiences.
But we can't do it alone. The success of our mission depends on support from people who share Dr. Murray’s vision. Whether you make a donation, purchase a membership, come to an event or give us your time, your support enables Living History Farms to bring history to life for more than 120,000 visitors of all ages and backgrounds, from across the United States and from dozens of countries each year.
We invite you to take some time to learn about the opportunities available to support Living History Farms.
