Donate an Item - Living History Farms

Donate an Item

We are grateful to all who donate items (tangible property) to Living History Farms. Wondering if something you would like to donate would be a good fit for us? Here are some examples:

  • We can use artifacts from around the time-periods we interpret (1700, 1850, 1875 and 1900) to add to our sites and programs.
  • We can use textiles and quilts into the 1900s to add to our textiles collection.
  • We can use books, maps and other documents about agricultural and Midwestern history for our internal library.
  • The Living History Farms Guild accepts items for its yearly “Big as a Barn” sale.
  • Our office accepts donations of office supplies and equipment.

All gifts of tangible property must be reviewed before Living History Farms can accept them.

To receive a form for having an item considered for donation to Living History Farms, or for questions, please contact Jim Dietz-Kilen, Vice President, Development by email at jdietz-kilen@lhf.org or by phone at 515-278-5286 x120. (Email is preferred.)
