Century Farms Heritage Circle

Living History Farms Century Farms Heritage CircleNow is the perfect time for Century Farm families to mark their place in history with a commemorative brick to be added to the Century Farms Heritage Circle at Living History Farms.

Families who have owned the same farm for at least 100 years are invited to make a donation to the non-profit outdoor agricultural museum. Each engraved brick features the name, timespan and location of a Century Farm. Three sizes of bricks are available: 16-inch square for a donation of $1,000; 12-inch square for a donation of $500; and 8-inch square for a donation of $250.

The first two sections installed around the Henry A. Wallace Exhibit Center were unveiled in July 2004, with more than 600 Century Farm family members celebrating the event. Project co-chairs Dean Kleckner, former president of the American Farm Bureau, and Dale Cochran, former Secretary of Agriculture for Iowa, presided over the ceremonies. A section will be added each year.

When completed, the brick walkway around the Henry A. Wallace Exhibit Center will feature the names and locations of farms that have continuously operated for more than a century and the families that comprise America's generations of the land. Century Farms from any state are eligible for this recognition program.
